THE STROLLERS WALKING GROUP

The group was started when some people found that the other walking groups were a little too strenuous for them.  However, you can walk in more than one group, some of the Strollers walk on a Friday too.

Most of our walks are around 2 miles and although there will be hills, we take them as slowly as you need.  You will be responsible for yourself but obviously we look out for each other.  We will always wait for someone to catch up if they are a little slower than others.

We meet every Wednesday at 11am the Schedule of Walks is on the website under Forthcoming Walks. There are also some of my write ups on previous walks and photos so you can get an idea of the walks.

After our walk, we find a café or pub for lunch or refreshments.  We are a very friendly group and welcome new members.

If you are not sure which walking group is going to be suitable for you, please come along as a visitor.  You are welcome to do this twice but the third time you would be asked if you would like to join U3A.  If you are interested in coming along as a visitor please contact me as very occasionally I change a walk due to weather conditions.  The group members are notified of any changes by email.  Please read the Health and Safety details and also the Risk Assessment on the website for your own benefit, a lot of this is common sense.

Walks organised by U3A groups automatically have public liability insurance provided the walkers are U3A members.  However, this is not a personal accident insurance and all members must be aware that they walk at their own risk.  The person responsible for their safety and happiness on the walk is the individual themself.

Dogs are welcome on walks if they are well behaved and always under effective control of their owner, both in urban and countryside areas.  To comply with the Law, all dogs should be microchipped and wear a collar with an identity tag.  Dogs themselves are not covered by U3A Public Liability Insurance (so any damage they may cause is the owner’s responsibility).  Owners are advised to ensure their dog(s) have adequate insurance.  You are also required to bring poo bags to clean up after your dog(s).

Forthcoming Walks
All walks start at 11.00am EVERY WEDNESDAY.
Walks will take place in light rain for those wishing to walk.
